Sparx Goalie/Sled Blade Holder 4 mm (Wide) – for wide steel
The wide version of the Goalie/Sled Blade Holder takes loose blades with a thickness of 4 mm. This lets you sharpen them in the Sparx skate sharpener without the skate. The holder is designed for the Sparx sharpening system.
3 mm or 4 mm?
This holder is only for 4 mm thick blades. According to Sparx, 3 mm steel is common on newer goalie skates without a cowling – for that, use the Goalie/Sled Blade Holder 3 mm. If in doubt, measure the blade before you buy.
Tip from Sparx
Steel is at its straightest when it is not mounted in the skate's holder. If you want especially even edges, remove the blades and sharpen them in the Blade Holder.
