Bauer hockey equipment and starter options
Bauer offers skates, pants, protective equipment and training products. Compare the items currently available and their intended use. A knee-hockey goal and mini-stick set is for the activity described by its manufacturer; it is not a complete set of protective equipment for playing ice hockey.
Items a protective hockey starter kit may include
- Shoulder pads:Provide coverage around the shoulders and upper torso. Choose the size and construction for the player’s level.
- Elbow pads:Help manage impacts during falls or contact and should stay positioned without restricting movement.
- Gloves:Cover hands and fingers while allowing comfortable stick handling.
- Shin guards:Provide knee and lower-leg coverage against puck or stick contact.
- Hockey pants:Cover the hips, lower torso and thighs with padding that allows movement.
- Equipment bag:Helps organise and transport the kit.
Compare starter set contents and value
A bundle may offer a convenient combination of items, but contents vary. Some knee-hockey sets include a small goal, sticks and a soft ball or puck; protective equipment sets have a different purpose. You can also select individual pieces. Compare size, compatibility and the current total price rather than assuming every set contains everything needed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the sizes in a hockey starter set?
Use the size guide and measurement method for each individual item. Height and weight alone are not enough for every piece. Check coverage, fit and freedom of movement, including how shoulder pads, pants and other protection overlap.
Can individual parts of a starter set be replaced or added?
Individual items such as shoulder pads or hockey pants can often be bought separately as needs change. Check size and compatibility when replacing or adding equipment. Any changes to a set before purchase depend on the options offered for that specific set.
Is a stick normally included in a hockey starter set?
Check the exact contents. Protective starter kits may exclude a stick because length, hand, flex and curve need individual selection. Mini or knee-hockey sets may include small sticks. Neither the title nor a general category description replaces the itemised contents.
